Panchakarma, an Ayurvedic treatment, is a full detox that we offer at our retreat in Kerala.

It’s been around for a long time and is an old way to get healthy again.

The name of our Ayurveda and Yoga Retreat Centre comes from Kerala, which means “God’s Own Country.” It has beautiful scenery, rivers that run, and quiet backwaters. Panchakarma is one of the most important ways that people have found to heal themselves.

Panchakarma is an Ayurvedic five-step cleaning process that cleans the body, mind, and spirit, gets rid of toxins, and gives them new life. The name comes from the words “Pancha” which means “five” and “Karma” which means “actions.”

🤚‍♀ What does Panchakarma mean?

This method, called Panchakarma, does more than just treat you. It also heals and cleans your body from the inside out. It tries to get rid of the things that make people sick by removing Ama (toxins) from the body’s tissues and bringing back the normal functions of the doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha).

By working on the body’s subtle energy paths, panchakarma has long-lasting effects that can be felt in your immune system, metabolism, mental health, and emotional well-being. This isn’t the same as the quick detox idea.

The Five Pillars of Panchakarma: At our retreat place in Kerala, Panchakarma therapy is done in its purest and most traditional form by Ayurvedic doctors and therapists with a lot of experience.

These are the five main ways to clean:

Vamana, or therapeutic vomiting, is when you throw up on purpose to get rid of too much Kapha.

When you have asthma, allergies, or a cold that won’t go away, this helps.

Virechana, or “Purgation Therapy,” is the use of plant laxatives to get rid of extra Pitta.

Great for issues with the skin, acidity, and the stomach.

  1. Basti (enema with medicine) Enema with plant oil or decoction can help you detox.

Great for Vata issues, joint pain, and trouble going to the toilet.

4: Nasya, or nasal cleansing, is the act of putting medicinal oils into the nose.

It can help with headaches, sinus issues, and brain fog.

  1. Raktamokshana (Optional Bloodletting): Sometimes blood needs to be cleansed.

Good for acne and eczema-prone skin.

Why should you do Panchakarma at our retreat place in Kerala? We have licensed therapists and Ayurvedic doctors who are very good at what they do.

Our team uses traditional knowledge and care for you to make customised Panchakarma plans that are based on your health and body type.

Nature-filled areas that are peaceful

Kerala is good for your health because it is quiet and has clean air. There will be rivers, trees, and music all around you, which is a great place to relax and work on yourself.

Sound healing and yoga go hand in hand in a lot of ways.

Not only do we clean your body, but we also fix your energy. Your Panchakarma journey will be even better if you do guided breathwork, sound healing, and yoga every day.
